iRon

iRon - is a strange geek accessory. Not because of it's name but because it's  a travel iron for the iPod. Yah, you heard that right.  Unfold the iRon, fill with water, dock your iPod and you can iron all your clothes with the power of the iPod battery.

But, if that's not strange enough, the iRon ships with "Stream Tempo" technology, that sprays the steam in tune with with the music - fast, heavy tunes producing more steam. iRon also includes 2 x 3W stereo speakers for handsfree music and a software plugin, which shows the water level, temperature and remaining battery life on the iPod.

It's compatible with pretty much all iPod's (not the shuffle) and is available from the Gear4Store for UKP 104.66. We are still not sure though if it's somebody's idea of an April fool joke.

We aren't sure, but technically it's feasible to build a travel iron that uses the power of the iPod, after all battery powered travel iron's have been around.  We were able to track the same product at iPodWorld as well, but the price quoted is UKP 39.99, which is less than half of what Gear4Store is quoting for it. Our advice is to send them a mail before you click the buy button, if this product really exists i.e..
