If you are in London, this summer you can watch the 2006 World Cup coverage and major Wimbledon matches in high definition  on BBC as long as you have  a HD ready TV or set top box and service from satellite or cable provider.

Though the first live HD program will be the opening World Cup match on Friday 9th June of Germany Vs Costa Rica, the HD broadcast trail will last for 12 months and will evaluate the technical delivery and the audience acceptance, starting from Monday 15th May. During the trial, BBC would also feature Prom concerts, it's natural history series Planet Earth and some drama documentaries also in HD quality.
