Update: How does it work?

We got a few mails to ask how this works. In simple terms, what the broadband booster does is to  analyze the broadband traffic and prioritize it for applications that require more bandwidth like VoIP, voice chat applications, video conferencing and online gaming.  Imagine you are playing a game while your little brother on the same network is sending an e-mail. Now, at this very moment priority is placed for the game, so the e-mail message doesn't have to be send in the same instant.  It makes the less important e-mail wait till the bandwidth requirement has eased on your game. So, it does the same when you do FTP and real-time video streaming for example, automatically allocating more priority and bandwidth to the video stream.

Technically, the device uses QoS (Quality of Service) to do this seamingly impossible possible,  using a technology called StreamEngine.  There are software solutions available, and high-end routers, which can do the same, but the Broadband Booster from Hawking is the easiest to install and use; and requires no configuration for most normal users.
