flux capacitor build and make one for yourself image and instructions

So, you missed the auction for the Flux Capacitor at eBay. Big deal! How about if we tell you how to make one for yourself? For the un-initiated the 'flux capacitor' is what powers the time machine circuit in the movie 'Back to the Future' and has the same status for us geeks like the Starship Enterprise from StarTrek.

Here's what you will need to build the Flux Capacitor for yourself:

  • A fuse box (small)
  • 14x14" piece of 1/4 inch Lexan (plexiglass)
  • Silicone caulk, black
  • 90 second epoxy
  • 6 ft rope light
  • Label punchM
  • Red tape for label punch
  • 14x14 piece of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)
  • Can of black spray paint
  • Hammer
  • Straight edge
  • Nail
  • Table saw
  • Skil saw (jig saw)

The complete plans and instructions are here. The best part of building your own flux capacitor?  you won't need 1.21 Jigawatts to power it!.  The idea is the brainwave of Cory Q, a self-confessed monkey fanatic. Dude, you are the geek!
