If there is one keyboard we want to buy right now it has to be the Optimus. Why? You see on the Optimus keyboard every key is a stand-alone display showing what it is controlling at the moment; each button can display an image/text or anything else on it.

 

So if you are playing a game like quake it will not be showing "QWERTY" but the icons of each weapons, likewise with Photoshop or you can even program keys to launch certain applications, and each of these keys will display graphical icons of the programs being launched.

But's thats not it. If you shift any other type of keyboard input language say Greek, it can show all greek letters instead of english. Get the idea? 

 

According to the company, it's expected to be launched in February 2006, and would cost less than a good mobile phone. However, they are not revealing which mobile phone are they comparing it with in prices.. any guesses?

 

Update: It seems the keyboard will be delayed and would now be only available by end of this year, 2006.
