Archos AV700 is on our lust list. Because it's a portable DVR, a Digital Video Recording and Playback device with 7" inch color video screen that can play back all your videos (400 hours of video/250 movies), photos (1,000,000 of them), and MP3 songs (55,000) on the go, record directly from the TV, VCR or DVD player and do a whole lot more in a wallet size form factor.
What more? How about, play games, record audio, sync with Windows Media player and even control the tuner inside your VCR, cable box or satellite receiver to automatically adjust the channel and record based on the time and duration of a schedule. The Archos AV700 is available with an option of 40 GB or 100 GB hard disk capacity for $799.95 (for the 100 GB model)
We like it and we think the Archos can replace a VCR or a digital video recorder instantly, while working as a portable video player and a digital music player. Of course, not to add that the video iPod is still a rumor.
